Populating my Inferno

Demon Imp from Hell, concept art by David Hudnut

More concept art for my upcoming Hell World project. No, I don't mean the Hellraiser film Hellworld. Hell World is just a placeholder title for my project. Why? Because a bunch of the story takes place in Hell. Before I release any story content, I'm posting concept art of my various Hellish Denizens and Hellish Locations. To get you in the mood.

Pictured above is another denizen of my hell. A demon imp. My Hell isn't all about burning alive, torture and agony. Sure, that stuff happens in anybody's Hell. But mine will focus on the quirky and fun. Fun in that tricky imp sort of way. You know the kind: one second he's pissing in someone's punch bowl (ha ha, good for a laugh), the next he's pissing in YOUR punch bowl (not funny at all, you foul smelling demon imp from Hell). Call it my own personal Joss Whedon-esque take on Hell, but without Buffy or Angel.

My book will fall into the vein (or should I say "stab the vein with a rusty needle") of Urban Fantasy. Well, more like Suburban Fantasy.

More to come!

Pictures of Hell - Hellscape 01

Hellscape concept art by David Hudnut

More concept art for my upcoming hellish book project. A basic hellscape to set the tone for my own underworld. There will be vast bleak wastelands of hell's inferno combined with densely populated hellish cities and strongholds. The cities will be filled to the brim with brimstone and devils. Plus lots of demons. Legions of demons.

Urban fantasy goes sub-urban. And I don't mean to the mall. I mean underground, to the earth's core. Well, maybe to the mall too. Call it Suburban Sub-Urban Fantasy. SSUF for short. That's "fuss" spelled backward.

Death Knight from Hell

Death Knight, concept art of one of Hell's denizens by David Hudnut

Another one of my concept art illustrations for my upcoming book project. It's got all sorts of cool devils and stuff. Demons too. Really scary, but in that awesome sort of way you get from playing Dungeons and Dragons late at night while consuming huge amounts of Skittles and Coca-Cola (not that I'd advise such an activity, nor will I confirm or deny my own participation in such junk food binges whilst playing D&D in the past).

The guy pictured above is a Death Knight. He lives in Hell. He kills people. Enough said. Don't rile him up. You've been warned.

Urban Fantasy gets a kick in the pants from Hell's Denizens, David Hudnut style.

More concept art will be forthcoming.

Devil concept art

Devil concept art of evil Succubus by David Hudnut
My next self-published book project in the works will feature loads of nasty devils, demons, and various other denizens from You-Know-Who's ultimate inferno. And I don't mean Dante's Inferno. That place was pansy-ass. The place in my tale is far worse...

Pictured on the left is concept art of a pissed-off succubus who will be appearing in my serialized novel.

You don't want to get on this girl's bad side. It's all spiky and stuff.

My hellacious tale will be an urban fantasy with lots of devils and demons who do fiendish things to unsuspecting mortals.

I'll be posting concept art of the various infernal characters and hellish locations featured in the story here on this blog as I finish them.

If anyone is interested in beta reading part one of my novel when it's ready, send me an email:

SEE YOU IN HELL!!!

Urban fantasy will never be the same...

Emerald City Comicon Monsters & Dames

My art for the Emerald City Comicon 2013 Monsters & Dames exclusive artbook
I'm excited to announce that my illustration pictured left will appear this March in the Emerald City Comicon exclusive 2013 Monsters & Dames artbook!

Yeah!

This is my first year attending ECCC, and my first year in the Monsters & Dames book as well. My art will be featured alongside the work of some awesome comic artists like Bruce Timm, Eric Canete, Crayon Monsters, Aaron Lopresti, Mike Mignola, Ben Templesmith and Skottie Young.

I will have a Gaming Artist Alley table this year and will have on display a large 20" x 30" poster of this art.

Be sure to come by my table so you can inspect all of the funny nunny business up close and personal, and wish the happy bride and groom a devilishly angelic honeymoon.
